Dizzy

I sometimes wonder what it felt like
to see the Earth from space
for the first time in history.
When the moon, rockets, and astronauts
were still novelty and science fiction.
Before outer space became textbook.
Seeing ourselves took on a whole new meaning,
a dizzy meaning.
I want the world to be big again.
I want to feel awed by immensity.
I want to forget what we've discovered,
then find it again for the first time,
untouched and unassuming and unconnotated.
