Friday Night Links 21: Highs & Lows

Summer break starts tonight! Both kids from my #nannylife are officially done with school (and off to various summer camps and activities), which means goodbye homework checks and hello leaving work early on Fridays (And maybe other days? Sure, why not.). I'm excited about having more time to enjoy summer, but it's not all beach days and street festivals in this city. Here are some highs and lows about Summer in Chicago:

Highs:

• This list of over 1,000 free events through the Chicago Park District for its 3rd season of Night Out in the Parks.
• And this can't miss list.
• This outdoor sculpture exhibit that I can't wait to see during our annual Bike Marathon.
• And this other outdoor sculpture exhibit that I'm sure I'll take in at some point (the LP Zoo tends to be a fallback for Jesus and me when we have nothing else going on. It's not a bad fallback.)
• "Divvy for Everyone"!

Lows:

• Billion-Dollar Loans.
• Worrisome Budget Cuts.
• A terminology debate that goes much deeper.
